All Introductory Biology 152 students conduct a semester-long research project in which they propose a novel research question, work to answer that question, and communicate their findings with a formal scientific paper, presentation, and poster symposium. The pictures on this page feature students presenting their findings at the poster symposium.
Students may complete their independent projects by either conducting mentored research with a lab on campus or by conducting a data-first based analysis with a partner. The Fall 2025 poster symposium will feature over 600 students and close to 400 projects. We invite you to attend this Fall semester's poster symposium, Wednesday, December 10th--across two sessions: Session A: 3:00pm-4:30 pm, Session B: 5:30pm-7:00pm, at Union South's Varsity Hall to help us celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our students and learn something new about biology.
