All Introductory Biology 152 students conduct a semester-long research project in which they propose a novel research question, work to answer that question, and communicate their findings with a formal scientific paper, presentation, and poster symposium. The pictures on this page feature students presenting their findings at the poster symposium.
Students may complete their independent projects by either conducting mentored research with a lab on campus or by conducting a data-first based analysis with a partner. The Spring 2026 poster symposium will feature over 1,100 students and close to 720 projects. We invite you to attend this Spring semester's poster symposium, Thursday, April 30th--across three sessions: Session A: 1:00-2:30pm, Session B: 3:15pm-4:45 pm, Session C: 5:30pm-7:00pm, at Union South's Varsity Hall to help us celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our students and learn something new about biology.
