All Introductory Biology 152 students conduct a semester-long research project in which they propose a novel research question, work to answer that question, and communicate their findings with a formal scientific paper, presentation, and poster symposium. The pictures on this page feature students presenting their findings at the poster symposium.
Students may complete their independent projects by either conducting mentored research with a lab on campus or by conducting a quantitative meta-analysis of published literature with a group of classmates. The Spring 2024 poster symposium featured nearly 950 students and over 600 projects. We invite you to attend this Falls semester's poster symposium, Wednesday, December 11th from 3pm-7pm at Union South's Varsity Hall to help us celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our students and learn something new about biology.
